  I have faced the same issue. I received a lot of OTPs from Uber, ChatGPT, Discord etc. I thought they were just trying to poke people. But once I started to go through those websites and tried to check whether my number was actually used to register any account by clicking "Forgot Password", I was shocked to see those websites actually had accounts created by my phone number without my permission. The scammers were somehow receiving those incoming messages kf the OTP codes. I guess they use people's phone number to create numerous accounts for further spaming or selling those accounts.
