Scam alert with fake Scotiabank bank app

Be careful with people who buy through Marketplace or TikTok. There is a scammer using the following scam method: - They always say they can only pay via Scotiabank and have no other payment method. - First, they arrange to meet you at a pickup point, but then they tell you they can't come and that an acquaintance will go instead. In reality, they apparently hire a delivery service to pick up the product. - Since they supposedly can't come in person, they suggest making the deposit during a video call. - From the start of the conversation, they ask for your bank details. Apparently, they use them to create a fake app or receipt to simulate that the transfer was made. - Then they say the money will take 30 to 40 minutes to appear, trying to get you to hand over the product before verifying that the payment actually arrived in your account. - They usually arrange deliveries at night, possibly taking advantage of the fact that some people might believe transfers take longer at that time. - On WhatsApp, they often appear as selling iPhones or mention being involved in iPhone sales. This same person has already contacted me twice from different conversations. Since I use two different numbers to sell, apparently they haven't realized I'm the same person (this time I made them pay for the delivery and then told them I don't accept interbank transfers). Do not hand over any product based solely on screenshots, receipts, video calls, or supposed pending transfers. Always check directly in your own banking app that the money is available in the account before handing over the product. I share this so you can be careful and not fall for this scam.
