App Links Scam

Someone sent me a fake BOI update link because my BOI app was not working. They told me to open a PDF and download an app. After installing it, the app asked for my phone number and ATM PIN, which made me suspicious. I then noticed there were two BOI apps on my phone, so I immediately closed and deleted the fake one. I had only entered my phone number and no other information. Later, someone tried to log into my WhatsApp account and OTPs were sent to my number. I denied all requests, enabled security settings like password and fingerprint lock, but after a few minutes my WhatsApp still got logged out. I logged back in and changed the passwords for my email and WhatsApp accounts. Please don’t open unknown links or download apps from untrusted sources, even if they look like bank or important apps.
