Received a call from a strange phone number claiming to be the police

While I was playing with my phone, this number called me. I was suspicious because I had already received the food I ordered, and at this time, no delivery person would be coming, but I still answered (I was stupid). When I picked up, they said my number was currently involved in a call with someone named Tâm (I don't remember the full name clearly) and told me to bring my ID card to the police station tomorrow. The problem is, I am studying far from home, and my family is also working far away, so I told them I couldn't go there. They asked why, and I said I am currently studying. Then they asked where I was, at home or in the dorm; I said in the dorm, and they told me to go outside to answer the call. At this point, I hung up. Overall, I'm not sure if it's a scam, but if anyone sees a number like this, be careful.
