Catch the scam. Don't let the scam catch you!

Ladies and Gents. Be sure and before you purchase anything online, especially from Facebook market place (scammer nest) do your research! This includes established businesses or service providers who actually may have done work for people however this does not mean they are honest, loyal or have integrity. They'll come in cheaper than most, take your money and do a poor job with no guarantees and aftermarket support. Number 1. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. Example: "If the item is half the price or less than it would be new" or "Immigrating or unwanted gift". Number 2. If they pressure you into making an impossible buy or want you to pay money over before you've even physically seen the product they baiting you. Kill the deal immediately. Always try to make a way to rather physically go and meet the seller to view the item in a secure public place. Even then be careful, unfortunately its the risk you take buying second hand items. Number 3. Never give anyone your personal information. Example: If your recieve a phone call from your "bank" and they claim there's been suspicious activity on your account and they need to verify your personal information with you to resolve the matter swiftly, immediately end the call. Google your bank fraud hotline and call your bank on the verified number provided on their site. That way you can verify with your bank if the activity on your account is real and if not take the time to inform the fraud agent of the call with the number (if available) that you received from the scammer. Lastly, always take the time to verify. Do not allow your emotions to make your decisions, this is exactly what scammer count on. Think and take the time to strategize what the best route to take would be and if you feel uncertain or uncomfortable then walk away. Listen to your gut feeling. I do hope my advice helps anyone out there and I'll be sure to post more in the future going forward. Helpful tips as to how to build a profile on a person or service provider and what tell tell signs could be red flags for you. Be Calm. Be Certain. Be Comfortable.

They tried , but failed. reported them with bank's fraud division while I was on the phone with them on my other line and informed them same. They dropped the call and bank is investigating them. How successful they were I would not know due to no follow-up or communication from the fraud division of Absa.
