Download⚠️ Electricity Bill Update APK Scam Alert (Patna, Bihar)
My mother recently applied for a new SBPDCL commercial electricity connection through the official Suvidha app. After the meter installation was completed and an official SMS with the new Consumer Number was received, she got calls from people claiming to be electricity department staff. The scammers knew details of the new connection and said the connection needed to be "updated/activated". They asked her to join a WhatsApp video call and install an APK file named "Electricity Bill Update". After installation, they guided her to grant multiple permissions. The phone then showed a system update process and restarted. Fortunately, I noticed the scam in time, disconnected the phone from the network, preserved evidence, and performed a factory reset before any money was stolen. Scammer numbers involved: [PHONE] [PHONE] Warning: • Never install APK files sent through WhatsApp. • Electricity departments do not activate connections through APK downloads. • Never grant Accessibility or other special permissions to apps sent by unknown callers. • If someone claiming to be from the electricity department asks you to install an app, disconnect the call and verify through official channels. Please report these numbers and stay alert.

The scammers knew a new SBPDCL connection had been applied for. They contacted my mother shortly after the genuine installation. They knew details that an ordinary random scammer would not normally know. They knew that we've got the new Consumer Number (CA). They used that information to gain trust and deliver a malicious APK. They made her install system update (Custom OS) to hide the playstore.
