scam by a supposed worker of the Quito electric company

A little over a year ago, a scammer dressed in an electric company uniform came to cut the power and then said that the meters were old. To avoid cutting the power and the penalty for an alleged irregularity in the connection, he offered the option to pay him so that this would not happen and, in the process, to change to new meters. He finally changed 3 meters with a charge and said he would submit the papers to the electric company himself, but he never did. We ended up with a high fine for having stolen meters. The electric company in Quito didn't even take data to follow up because this was common in many parts of the Valle de los Chillos, which means they had income from penalties for accepting stolen meters. Be careful with this type of scam if your meter is on a shared panel with other users.
