Fake amazon order in COD

I received a whatsapp notification from an international number, with DP of amazon shipping, informing that your order is shipped and pay Rs 699 cash on delivery. I was confused becaus5i never placed the order on COD. Exactly with a week, received a call from amazon delivery partner - from which I usually get a call for clarifying the location. I was curious how this come - an order which i never placed is coming for delivery. Delivery agent came and shown me the parcel. My name and address was well written and he asked me to pay Rs. 699. I was fully doubt and hesitant to pay. However, I paid using UPI, as the delivery person shown the QR code to pay which is also reflects amazon payment channel. Even I couldn't see the list of my orders in my Amazon account too. Latet i realized that it was a scam. It's so weird how I got scammed irrespective of my awareness of such fradulant incidents. Please be careful and cautious of such orders. Do not accept and pay anything blindly unless or until you are sure about whether you actually ordered or not , even though it's cash of delivery ( COD ).
