My phone rang from a local number, and a voice sounding unmistakably like PM Modi came on the line. After a quick greeting, the voice switched to a heated lecture, calling me an "unappreciative citizen" and ranting about how he was the worst Prime Minister because no one paid their "National Development Duty." He claimed my address was flagged for tax evasion and demanded I instantly transfer ₹350,000 to a private "PM Emergency Fund" account via UPI to avoid immediate police action. Realizing it was an AI-generated voice clone being used to scare me into a panic payment, I hung up—and the scammer immediately blocked my number.
