i got INR 9500/- transferred in my account from a random no and now someone msged. paise galti se aapko bhej diye return kijiye. I've not responded yet. is this a possible modus operandi of a scam

yes it is a scam. firat check your account balance through the official app, if they give a link DONT CLICK IT . check through your official bank app and then if there money there then i think you can keep it or return it its your choice but check your account as these messages can be fake and dont click on any links they give
