I am an IPS officer 😅

Today, I want to talk about a type of cybercrime where criminals pretend to be police officers or IPS officers to scare people and try to extort money from them. Imagine a person suddenly receives a phone call. The caller says— "I am speaking as an IPS officer. A report has come to your Gmail that you have watched some objectionable video. Action can be taken against you. You have only 10 minutes. If you want to clear your case, I am sending you a number. Talk to that number and clear it immediately." In such a situation, the person may get scared and believe the criminal without thinking. This is the strategy of cyber fraudsters—first create fear, then give very little time, and finally try to get money or personal information. We must remember that if someone on the phone claims to be a police officer, IPS officer, or an official from any government department, we should not trust them just based on their words. Do not share OTP, PIN, password, bank details, or personal documents with any unknown person and do not transfer money immediately out of fear.
