I Am Worn Out
I'm receiving over 5-6 scam calls a day. I have answered some & then hit the record button on my phone that announces 'this call is being recorded'. Instant hang up. Nobody says a word. Just instant disconnection. What do I do? This is my business line it's happening on. I have no more dandruff to scratch so to speak trying to fix this problem so clients can contact me. HELP PLEASE!

all the calls I'm getting are spoofed numbers. I don't answer unless I recognize a number. I tell everyone, text before calling me. My important numbers are all filtered through scam detection, and there's twice as many fraud scam texts. They're using unassigned numbers , unused , and a few I've gotten were to legit businesses. Most are now AI bots making the calls, answer their questions correctly and they'll then connect you to a human. A scammer can sit in an underground bunker in Russia, and through the internet get most of your credentials and information off the dark web. Then , they're just phishing for one or two identifiers from you, or just have you go to a spoofed website to collect the data. You might believe you're buying an antivirus, but you just downloaded a silent backdoor to your device. It's just the matrix

I totally understand your plight. Ihad a 16 month period where I would get up to 9 calls per day from the same outfit! multiple times i would get called while talking to them on the other line! Peoplenalways say, "just dont answer the phone." Yeah well, thats great and all but as a self employed person, I have to answer the phone. I would gonout of bisiness if I took that advice, people just don't get it.

I'll go ahead and post since I haven't really seen anyone else make this suggestion. If you absolutely feel like you have to answer calls from numbers you do not know... (because you do not HAVE to - I have found blocking all unknown numbers to work or there are AI apps that will screen calls for you)... BUT if you do, here's a tried and true tip... AS SOON AS YOU ANSWER, if you hear a weird noise followed by a long pause before anyone says anything... it is ALWAYS spam or collections. Don't hesitate, just hang up.
