SCAM ATTEMPT "GOOD SAMARITAN"
Hello, I have decided to name this scam attempt "Good Samaritan." Let me tell you: I received a call on my number from my work phone. When I answered, I heard a woman making noises like moaning in pain, saying "help, ay ay ay help, it hurts, oh the knee." I asked, "Who am I speaking to?" and this is when I started to suspect. She gave a generic name without specifying a last name: "Maria" (I don't know any Maria). When she heard my voice, she started saying "help me, son, ay ay," clearly trying to act like a person in distress to lower the victim's guard. Then, using Truecaller, I looked up the number and it showed the name "Hercules," a clearly fictitious name, and the WhatsApp profile picture was of an elderly man, again a different profile from the call. So I assume they also operate through WhatsApp. To make a long story short, she claimed she needed my help (obviously financial). Of course, if someone has an emergency, they call 911 or other help numbers, not a stranger's number without knowing their name. When I asked "Whose relative are you?" she said "yours," and I decided to hang up there. I repeat, the call used a woman's voice, but if you look at the images, it doesn't match.
