Is this a scam ?? ❓❓

I recieved a suspicious message on sms saying to download and app to recieve 5000 gems for clash of clans. I felt I was suspicious so i reported the no. and deleted the message. Was it a scam ??

bro there are many mods in browser which can give you infinite gems for free and trust me I tried one of the mods and got tons of gems for free
