I was sent a check from Chase Morgan for 2000 $ I was told to deposit in my account. go to CVS or Walgreens and purchase gift cards 500 dollars each a total of three gift cards I am supposed to note how the service was by merchant. it's seems like a scam

it will Not clear through your bank, but it may take a while. So the scammer want you to have sent them money via gift cards (untraceable). Then when their check is flagged for fraud, you will already be out of pocket from buying the gift cards. Do not go along with any requests from these scammer. Just take their check to your bank, do not try to deposit that check. Speak to the bank manager & tell them the story. Also that you believe it could be from a scammer. The bank will take your information & share it with all of the other branches & the police so they can hopefully find the network of crooks. these pe

It's a regular type scam from Nigeria and Kenya. They steal a blank check from a tourist's checkbook and then forge signature, etc. I was sent one for 78,350 USD when I was running my computer business. First step was contact the bank to check funds. If sufficient, ask bank to verify with the customer.

It is the scam. They want you to put the money their check, which is no good in the bank and I don't hopes that the bank we'll take the money out of your account to cover the check. Can you send them the cards? They tried that on me

Scam to the max! They tried to get me on the CVS gift card scam when I was having issues with a computer in 2024. CVS workers alerted me to this as I had the scammer on the phone while searching for gift card he actually wanted. I told him he was a scam and hung up the phone.
