Jury Duty scam

Good afternoon everyone! I want to share my experience this week with a phone call from the "Sheriff's Department office," where they pretended to be government employees. They called me from a PRIVATE NUMBER saying that I had not attended court to be a Jury Duty witness, that I had signed the mail they sent me and they had my signature and fingerprints, implying someone had impersonated me (first red flag). Then they started telling me that the call was being recorded by the government and that I couldn't tell anyone around me what they were saying, that it could be considered an offense and they could arrest me for it (second red flag). They sent me a text message with an arrest warrant document for not attending jury duty and told me to get in the car to continue talking and cooperating with them (the document looked very real, but it was not). Then they asked me to drive to the nearest Sheriff's office from where I live so they could take my fingerprints and verify my signature, which I never made, and if the judge verified it wasn't mine, they would let me go the same day, but I still had to pay $12,500 as bond payment. They said I had to stay parked for now to keep talking, and that payment had to be made before arriving at the sheriff's office, that was the only way to avoid being arrested, and if found innocent, they would return the money, otherwise, I would be detained for at least 72 hours (third red flag). When they insisted I had to pay and threatened to take me to the police to be arrested, I told them I was already at the sheriff's office and asked for their name, and they immediately hung up. Be very careful and do not give any personal information or be afraid of these scammers, no one will arrest you and no government agency will call to say they will arrest you; in that case, they would come to your house with an arrest warrant, not a phone call.
