DownloadRental Scam
Ipaid ₹10,800 to my former roommate Shruti towards security and advance rent. I vacated the accommodation on the 5th, before the next rent cycle, but the amount has not been refunded despite repeated requests. The matter was discussed with her family, and I was asked to wait until Rakhi, but the payment is still pending. Aman Rathod was also aware of the matter. The family is associated with Mittal Furniture and Electronics. I have payment records and chat screenshots supporting my claim and have approached the concerned authorities. Sharing this only to document my experience and help others exercise caution in similar transactions. Amount involved: ₹10,800.

How can you give rent or an advance to a roommate? That’s something you normally pay to the owner. And usually, in a PG mess, the owner keeps the advance. In my case, my roommate’s father was a politician, so out of fear, the owner had to manage it by deducting that amount as our monthly charges for all students in that PG hostel. 😄 But this issue is almost every where and serious which needs to be addressed.
