⚠️SCAM alert⚠️

If they call you, feel free to answer and say whatever you want to them — but DO NOT trust their words. A few days ago, one of our family members went missing for 2 days. After we shared all the information and phone number on Facebook, these scammers saw the post and contacted us pretending to be an SI (Sub-Inspector) from Tangail Police Station. They claimed they had found our missing family member and said he was admitted to a hospital. Then they asked us to send money immediately. But the strange thing was — we have no relatives or anyone in Tangail, and we are from Dhaka. Instead of sending money, we decided to visit the hospital address they gave us. As soon as we reached there, they blocked all of our numbers. Later, when we called them again from an unknown number, the person admitted he was NOT actually an SI. After sharing his number with local people from that area, they told us he is a well-known drug dealer there. These people target helpless families through Facebook posts about missing persons. They pretend to be police officers from different districts, create confusion, emotionally manipulate victims, take money, and then block them. He introduced himself to us as an SI from Tangail Police, but on Truecaller he was identified as an SI from Comilla. Other people also said he had previously tried similar scams with them. He changes his identity depending on the district mentioned in Facebook posts and pretends to be an SI from that district to make the scam look believable. Please stay careful and warn others. 🙏
