🚨 SCAM ALERT: Meta / Facebook & Messenger Account Recovery Exploits! 📱⚠️

Scammers are heavily targeting Facebook, Messenger, and Meta platforms by turning Facebook’s built-in "Find Your Account" and recovery features against you! Here is exactly how this Meta-focused scam works and how to protect yourself. 🔒 🔍 How the Scam Works on Meta Platforms The Target: A scammer picks your Facebook profile or Messenger account. 👤 1. The Recovery Lookup: They go to Facebook’s "Find Your Account" page and type in your name, username, or profile link. 🔎 2. The Partial Leak: Facebook displays a preview hint of your linked details to verify ownership (e.g., "Send code via SMS to [PHONE] •••••• 89"). 3. The Trap & Impersonation: Now that the scammer knows the last few digits of your phone number, they message you on Messenger, WhatsApp, or SMS claiming to be Meta Support, a Security Team, or even a hacked friend’s profile. 🎭 4. The Hook: They send a message like: "Your account is flagged! Confirm the phone number ending in 89" or "I accidentally sent my Facebook recovery code to your number, can you send it back to me?" 🎣 5. The Takeover: The moment you send them that 6-digit code (OTP), they use it to reset your password and completely lock you out of your Facebook and Messenger accounts! 💥 6. 🛡️ How to Stay Safe on Facebook & Messenger • 🛑 NEVER Share Meta Login Codes: Meta/Facebook support will NEVER message you on Messenger asking for an OTP, verification code, or login link. • 👥 Beware of "Friends" Asking for Codes: If a friend messages you on Messenger saying "I sent a code to your phone, please tell me what it is," their account has been hacked! Do not send anything. 🚫 • 🔑 Don't Trust Partial Numbers: Anyone can see the last 2–4 digits of your phone number just by putting your profile link into Facebook's "Forgot Password" page. Seeing those numbers doesn't make a caller or messenger legitimate! • 🔐 Enable 2FA via Authenticator App: Go to Meta Accounts Center and set up Two-Factor Authentication using an Authenticator App (like Google Authenticator) instead of SMS. 🛡️ • 👁️ Limit Account Lookup: In your Facebook Settings, change "Who can look you up using the phone number/email you provided?" to Only Me or Friends. Stay sharp, protect your Meta accounts, and share this on your wall or in groups to keep everyone safe! 📢✨
