Scammers now impersonating govt officials

This person called and claimed to be a "GST inspector" asking for physical copies of my business documents, and that he needs to "visit the facility". I insisted that he provide me with a legal intimation in written, so I know he is who he claims to be. He tried to come up with excuses to not provide the same. I asked him to write down my email address, and as soon as I recited "adv." he hung up. Please do not be scammed. Almost everything is done online these days, but I must say the government ought to be more careful with our data.
