someone called and told me my line was to be blocked in five minutes because i had not registered it again, and i fell for it. he instructed me to dial a series of codes and the next thing i got was a momo notification saying i had paid 43,033 to a one Imara Nanteza, but when i checked the details of the line, it was non-existent. I wish i knew someone who could hack into a phone so that can wreak havoc in that guy's life!

It also happened to me but the unfortunate part is that these guys didn't succeed taking my money. MTN has always warned it's customers not to share with any person your NIN number so when it reached at that point of punching in my NIN I remembered the warnings I ended at that point and I think the person realized that I had hesitated. He abused me with every vulgar words you can imagine. it was a win on my side. Let's be vigilant. That was a scam.

In most cases, if there is an issue with your SIM card or account, the service provider will advise you to visit their nearest service center for verification and resolution. Legitimate telecom companies also communicate important account-related matters through official SMS notifications sent from their recognized service numbers. "...he instructed me to dial a series of codes, and the next thing I received was a Mobile Money notification..." 🚩 **RED FLAG!** Legitimate telecom representatives do not ask customers to dial unknown codes that can authorize financial transactions. Always verify any such requests directly with your telecom provider before taking action. If in doubt, hang up and contact the provider through their official customer care channels.

This is so common . I think MTN should do some work, even after reporting the scammers,they should give us feedback, follow with the law as well. it'd help a lot.

if you've never done the procedure as they are instructing then don't do it at all , if your not aware of what they are trying to make you do , then don't do it at all ! you can wait it out and idk get it registered as you usually do or whatever .
