The caller scam

I am currently in the tenth grade and I have good knowledge about these scams. I never thought that such a scam would happen to me, but by God's grace, no money was taken from my mother's account. What happened to me was that I received a call from a number where the caller told me that my maternal grandfather's account was frozen and my mother's name is the nominee, and we are supposed to receive ₹7000 from the nominee's money. At that time, my mother was out buying some things, so I told them that my mother was not with me and they needed to talk to her. They said it was okay since I am her daughter, so I should tell them which number I use to receive UPI payments. I told them I only use Paytm for UPI-related work. I gave them the number, which I should never have done—never share your OTP or number with anyone. They told me they would send the money in parts. First, I received a message for ₹5000, and immediately after, a message for ₹2000 came to my number. Then they told me that by mistake ₹20,000 was sent instead of ₹2000 and asked me to send the extra money back. By then, I realized that some kind of fraud was happening to me. I did not hang up the call, which was another big mistake. I was a little scared at that time. I told them I have my mother's number and I cannot take any action without her authority. I told them to talk to my father. They started arguing with me and said, "What will happen by talking? Give me your money back." Their tone also changed, which is not usual for any agent. I was very scared then, but I quickly went home and gave the phone to my mother. She handled the situation. The person said my account would be frozen. My mother said it was okay. Then they said the police would come, and my mother said that she would not call the police. After that, the person hung up.
