I logged a complaint to repair my Toshiba TV with Toshiba/Hisense customer care. Surprisingly, that same evening I received a call from a fraudster who mentioned my complaint to Toshiba. I wonder how the complaint details were leaked by Toshiba. The fraudster said that if I paid ₹1100, I would get a brand new TV the next day and shared a payment QR code. I did not proceed as it was neither a verified call nor was any official email sent. The fraudster did not follow up further, sensing that the fraud was detected. My main question is how such details are gathered by fraudsters. Surely someone from Toshiba is leaking information. The fraudster did not follow through sensing the fraud was detected. my main question is how such details are gathered by fraudsters. surely someone from toshiba is leaking info. toshiba should take cognizance. मैंने अपने Toshiba TV की मरम्मत के लिए Toshiba/Hisense कस्टमर केयर में शिकायत दर्ज कराई थी। हैरानी की बात यह है कि उसी दिन शाम को मुझे एक धोखेबाज़ का फ़ोन आया, जिसने मेरी Toshiba शिकायत का ज़िक्र किया। मुझे हैरानी है कि Toshiba से शिकायत की जानकारी कैसे लीक हो गई। उस धोखेबाज़ ने कहा कि अगर मैं ₹1100 का पेमेंट करूँ, तो मुझे अगले ही दिन एक एकदम नया TV मिल जाएगा, और उसने मुझे पेमेंट के लिए एक QR कोड भी भेजा। मैंने उसकी बात नहीं मानी, क्योंकि न तो वह कोई वेरिफ़ाइड कॉल था और न ही मुझे कोई ऑफ़िशियल ईमेल मिला था। जब उस धोखेबाज़ को लगा कि उसका फ़्रॉड पकड़ा गया है, तो उसने भी आगे कोई संपर्क नहीं किया। मेरा मुख्य सवाल यह है कि धोखेबाज़ों को इस तरह की जानकारी कैसे मिल जाती है? यकीनन Toshiba का ही कोई व्यक्ति यह जानकारी लीक कर रहा है। Toshiba को इस मामले पर ध्यान देना चाहिए।
