A/C service Scam for Advance 4000₹ compressor failed

Subject: Scam Alert – Fake A/C Service Fraud Dear All, I would like to bring to your attention a recent scam incident that I personally experienced, to help others avoid falling into the same trap. I am from Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu. While searching on Google for A/C service near me, I contacted the first website listed, which displayed a toll-free number: 1800 4120 1991. Unfortunately, my call was not answered. Later, I received a call from 097909 01392 another person who provided a different technician’s contact number. 063819 67780 That technician visited my home, briefly checked my A/C, and immediately claimed that the compressor had failed, quoting a repair cost of ₹9,000. However, when I suggested checking the condenser (starting capacitor), he ignored it and insisted only the compressor was faulty. He then demanded an advance payment of ₹4,000, along with a visiting charge of ₹400. After taking the money, the person became unreachable — his phone was switched off, and he did not respond to any calls. This is clearly a fraudulent activity. I kindly request everyone to: - Verify service providers before booking - Avoid making advance payments to unknown technicians - Prefer authorized or well-reviewed service centers - Cross-check diagnosis if repair cost is high Please stay alert and do not fall victim to such scams.
