Scammer Offers Help to Find Missing Persons
This number [PHONE] tried to scam a friend who had lost her son here in Venezuela. The boy had left the house, and in desperation, she posted photos of her son and her phone number so that if anyone saw the boy, they could contact her. This number wrote to her on WhatsApp pretending to be an officer of the National Police of Colombia, telling her that her son was in Cúcuta, on the border with Venezuela, and that she urgently needed to send a Good Conduct Letter and an Explanatory Letter about what happened so they could do the paperwork to return the boy. It was all a lie; the supposed officer never existed nor did he have the woman's lost son. He only tried to take advantage of the mother's desperation. The boy appeared in another city; he had wanted to leave his home. Be alert for scammers and report them.
