hdfc insurance scam calls

so lately i have been getting hdfc insurance calls where they ask if my agent is giving me information and updating me and all right? at first i thought it's normal, they just checking on me. but i started getting lots of call, like 3 to 5 times a day. i got frustrated and for last time said they should remove my name cause obviously i said yes i do get updates and all. this was yesterday,today at morning while i was running late for college i got call asking me about policy and all, and i said i dont know,my father handles it, whatever it is, he will go in branch and talk. he started saying my policy will get canceled and all and i was soo frustrated and late i said yes do it, cancel it, burn it, do whatever u wanna do i dont care and cutted it. he called again and i cutted again. i called my father later thinking it was something genuine and inform him this and he said it was scam, no bank will cancle policy on phone and atleast official message or something should come right? it's a scam and don't open it. i wrote down this and asked on google and they said it's common scam, they first check that my agent is updating me and all and if i had said no they would have tried helping me and got my information and all, but cause i said yes multiple times,they changed tactics. if i could i would definately sue this big companies who make soo much money but cant hadle and protect our information. privacy is taken so lightly in india.
