Internet Service Provider

I'm writing for the very first here because I think this looks fishy in itself or could be a potential scam too. My mother received a call today(6/7/26) around 8:30 in morning on our landline and the person on the other side was claiming to be an employee of my ISP (internet service provider), which is a well known ISP. She started by warning us about internet disruption like your services will be temporarily banned, and other things as well, slowly she moved on and led that conversation to asking for personal details. And when I got into the matter and started questioning "her", she disconnected. First thing first, my ISP notifies me everytime about any kind of disruption through text messages. Another thing, if you really belong to that team, you people have all the required details, you could have just cross checked with me. I really do not know who are/were involved in this, but I just wanted to let everyone know what a potential scam could look like. If anyone claims to be one of your service providers, doesn't matter what kind of service it is, authentic bodies have your data in their database. Nobody will ask you everytime, they can cross check with you which is fine. But don't give any unknown person your personal details or any kind of OTPs unless you trust them or they're familiar to you or you really have idea what's going on. Sometimes, scammers so much sugarcoat their words that it feels real, educate people around you, follow up with them, and by any chance you get scammed don't forget to lodge a FIR. Have a nice day.
