Job search, zoom call update scam
while searching jobs had one job post come up. verified the company was legit. Sent in resume. Received an email wanting to do a preliminary zoom interview. Entered zoom and it immediately popped up update app. upon doing so it downloaded malware. a hour or so later, all my financial apps were sending notices of withdrawals. Had 2 accounts drained, was on 3rd one. Was able to contact all institutions in time to stop any further actions. Have had to do a system reset on phones, change all account numbers, have new cards coming. Banks have reversed all charges but it was close. accounts are still froze on 2 that were drained while under investigation. Not all job posting are legit even if the company was a real company. They have now spoofed our business ph number and am getting calls constantly about orders.

I had a person contact me for a proofreading/editing job, said they would pay 3500. I completed the job and emailed it back to them and they gave me an international bank to set up an account with. I made the account and the money was really I my account but they wanted a fee to release the money to my account and refused to take it out of the 3500. Now I just have that money stuck there. When I looked up the bank name it all looked like a scam from what I understood about it

Thank you for paying this, just think about how many people you may have just saved from this scam!

open the app separately, and see if it needs an update.
