The Truth About Video Call Scams: Don't Let Fear Win
I Was in Your Shoes and Survived: Why Sextortion Has No Real Power Over You Several years ago, I fell victim to the exact same scam. A video call was manipulated, explicit footage was recorded, and I was threatened with total exposure. The panic was so overwhelming that I genuinely contemplated ending my life. Instead, I chose to pause, step back, and see what would actually happen. Today, I want to share the reality of the situation to save anyone currently in that dark place: Platform Enforcement: Major social media platforms like Facebook and YouTube have incredibly strict automated algorithms. Any attempt by scammers to upload explicit content results in immediate takedowns and account bans. Legal & Cyber Support: Even in worst-case scenarios involving obscure websites, modern cyber cells and digital rights organizations can successfully intervene to have the content permanently removed. The Scammer’s Playbook: They rely entirely on your fear to extort money. The moment you cut off communication, block them, and refuse to give them power, they lose their leverage and move on. We are all human, and having a body is a normal part of existence. Do not let a cheap criminal compromise your peace of mind or your life. If you are facing this right now, take a deep breath, disengage completely, and go get some rest. This crisis will pass, and you will survive it.

I did received such call few years back. They used to call daily. So, out of frustration, I accepted their call. But my room was dark. I kept my face far from camera only forehead was visible. They cut the call within 10 seconds. 😌
